Hockey Edmonton Welcomes Ian Herbers to our Board of Directors

Hockey Edmonton is pleased to welcome Ian Herbers to its Board of Directors. A proud participant in the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association throughout his youth, Ian’s hockey journey took him from the Western Hockey League and U Sport to the National Hockey League, where he laced up his skates for the Edmonton Oilers. Alongside his successful playing career, Ian has become synonymous with coaching and coach development. His impressive coaching journey has spanned nearly every level of hockey in North America, from U15 and U18 with the Knights of Columbus to positions with Hockey Canada, the National Hockey League, and, currently, the University of Alberta Golden Bears in U Sport.

Ian’s depth of coaching experience is matched only by his dedication to mentoring the next generation of coaches through the University of Alberta’s Master’s of Coaching Program, Hockey Alberta’s High Performance 1 program, and numerous other initiatives. His appointment to Hockey Edmonton’s Board of Directors brings him full circle, aligning with his commitment to building a strong hockey community in Edmonton, advancing the game, and giving back to the city that has played such a meaningful role in his life.

Once again, Hockey Edmonton is excited to welcome Ian, along with his leadership and experience, to its Board of Directors.
